Since ancient times, the main task of religion has been to provide a person with an interpretation of everything that happens in the surrounding reality, to form the opinion about the world around him, and most importantly – what is the meaning of his existence. Centuries have passed, and, despite the scientific discoveries in physics, chemistry and other fields that form the basis for the modern worldview, the phenomenon of religion has not outlived itself to this day, but at the same time has changed its essence. However, there is still a problem in society – not accepting of people’s choices due to the alienation of religion in their lives.
It is necessary to clarify what is religion in the modern world – it is a certain worldview based on belief in the existence of supernatural forces (God or Gods). Basically, religion is close to people of the current elderly age: in our country this is due to the spread of Christianity in the times of Kievska Rus, as well as the preservation of rituals and traditions.
But in the modern world it is impossible to plunge into religion as in a pool with the head, which is difficult for senior citizens. This is due to the presence of various financial and not only frauds in the church, the credulity of believers, and especially the dependence and interconnection of religion and politics, which are often overlooked. In addition, families practice the instilling of religion in a child who takes this information on faith from adults without the possibility of their own choice at a more mature age.
However, nowadays religion is not in demand among young people 20-30 years old, which I consider a positive moment. They prefer to be guided by common sense and rational thinking to explain certain points in life, that is, we can say about some alienation of religion by the younger generation. But at the same time, it is necessary to say about the existence in our modern society of such individuals, who do not recognize the choice of an individual regarding the rejection of religion, whose actions in the 21st century, the century of the freedom of choice, are condemned.
This happens for various reasons: because of life surrounded by religious people, some fanaticism and mental disorders, and other reasons that are manifested in the desire to impose their own “correct” choice about religion. But each person has the right to his own choice, both in religion and in other issues related to his life, which should not be censured by society if it is not accepted.
Therefore, it is necessary to start with ourselves and to try to change the mentality and policy of our behavior in society, because we are used to getting into other people’s affairs with advice on what is best or what is right. Let’s not pay attention to such moments in communication, because you have no right to force a person to change. Be simpler in such moments, accept the person and his choice, regardless of your opinion, because each person is valuable, as well as his choice, which is not questioned.
