Distance learning is the challenge for us today

Olha Maslyuk.

Due to the epidemiological situation in the world, distance learning is becoming increasingly important. This is a challenge for both teachers and schoolchildren and students. Mastering new platforms and programs, a different approach to conducting classes, a different perception of educational material and much more that we all face in the process of distance learning today.

As a student, I believe that distance learning opens the door to additional education, many professional courses and opportunities to study at foreign universities. But nothing can replace the effectiveness of learning and face to face communication in the auditory. For example, I perceive information much better in the classroom. After all, this is due to eye contact with the teacher and the possibility to communicate freely with him /her. Learning offline better motivates me to study educational material. And I’m more focused and attentive while being at the the university than at home. Of course, distance learning is convenient, and it saves our time spent on the way to school or university. But learning online can negatively affect our health. Because we move less and spend more time on the computer.

So, if I should choose between offline and online learning I would undoubtedly prefer teaching in the classroom.
