Finding a job is a challenge for young people

Olha Maslyuk.

Nowadays, it is difficult for young people to find a job especially in acordance with their speciality. In the past, colleges and institutes had more practical links with enterprises, factories, and plants, and graduates were guaranted with a working place at once. Although there were problems with unemployment, it was much easier to find a job, as my parents say.

In an era of technological change, many professions simply disappear or they have been dramatically changed. Although new ones are emerging, there is a vital need for retraining or additional education. At the same time employers want good specialists with work experience at once. The conditions and job responsibilities for existing vacancies change every year. How do ordinary young people can find work in such strict conditions?

Next year I will graduate from university and thus the problem of finding a job is acute for me. A few companies already offer internships and are willing to accept graduates without work experience. I hope that in the future the number of such companies wil increase and it will be much easier for young people who are ready to study and work hard to find their first job.
