Emotional burnout and how to stop it with simple techniques

Denys Ivanok.

I visited a blog cafe on «Prevention of public activists’ emotional burnout» that was heldt within the «I am Media» project. The topic concerns me directly like many other activists. I believe that I am terrible at resting. It’s quite a diagnosis of the 21st century. No doubt, “chilling” is a natural state of our body – all resources are aimed at conservation and accumulation, not waste. But, little do we know what rest truly mean for our bodies. Looks like a topic for the good separate post that I’ve almost jumped into, I must admit. But let’s come back to the present one. It sounds weird after all, we were learning how to rest properly. Workout, warm-up, massage, meditation, games or any other radical activity shift, psychological exercises, numerous techniques for the care of our psycho-emotional state and healthy sleep as a sweet cherry on the top of this pie – all that content filled the blog-cafe agenda and was presented to us with talent by a moderator, Tatiana Detsuk. I am saying all of these with gratitude to her great job.I cannot miss the core of this event – the practical perspective. We exercised almost every technique right away collectively. I bet any other cafe can’t provide you with possibilities to massage customers, dance, wriggle around and meditate, imagining a journey to your own, but still imaginary (sad enough), castle. As for me, I would be back at this kind of cafe soon. As for you, I highly recommend visiting events, organised within the «I am Media» project!

The project is implemented by Chernihiv Polytechnic National University in cooperation with the Human Rights Foundation NGO and the University of Tartu (Estonia). The project is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia.
